Strictly Internal | Issue #46

New internal communications jobs at Citi, Marriott, MongoDB, Blue Origin and more. Plus: A closer look at thousands of AI convos about comms work.

In partnership with

Hi 👋  Today we have 55 new internal communications jobs across the US, UK, and Canada, including 6 remote roles and 5 transformation-focused comms roles. A nice mix for this first Monday in April…8 VP and Director-level roles, two jobs at space companies, a change comms role focused on AI adoption, and a job creating content for a 115-year-old employee magazine (Davey).

In Insights: An examination of thousands of AI conversations about internal comms tasks, a new report sheds light on awareness gaps on core employee benefits, an event to discuss the “hidden disconnect” with company values, and insights from a survey of 900+ comms leaders.

Have a good week!

New Report: What's next in internal comms

Contact Monkey Global Internal Comms Report

ContactMonkey surveyed 400+ internal comms pros across the globe and uncovered some hard truths about what’s ahead. The top 3 trends?

  • Employee experience is the new battleground. But most communicators struggle to measure it.

  • AI is rewriting the rules. You can’t afford to be left behind.

  • Budget cuts are back. We're still doing more with less.

What can we learn from 11,500+ AI conversations about internal comms tasks?

AI is on everyone’s minds and features prominently in industry surveys (such as Contact Monkey’s report above 👆). But how are people actually using AI tools for comms work? Anthropic, maker of Claude AI, released a report and dataset on its user activity and turns out there’s a lot of info on internal comms work. Learn more in my analysis of AI in communications tasks.

Insights

  • “Ineffective communication is hindering employee utilization of benefits,” says a new report from Aon on employee sentiment, based on a survey of ~9.5K workers worldwide. Lots of good points in this one, particularly around missed opportunities with communicating existing employee programs.

  • “A hidden disconnect between what organizations say they stand for and what employees actually experience” and what communicators can do about it is the subject of a free April 10 ICology webinar. Check it out!

  • Employee and executive comms are among the top skills communicators need to future-proof their roles according to a recent survey of 900+ communicators by Ragan. AI tops the list, of course, and the report has some interesting points about the effect of having a comms pro on an organization’s ELT.
