Insights

  • “Flawed assumptions about what motivates people to work can lead to counterproductive management tactics,” says this article from MIT Sloan Management Review, which offers new research and practical advice on motivating employees. Worth a read before your next round of change comms.

  • Looking to be the next Chief Comms Officer at your company? This report from search firm Patino Associates says the odds are against you, with ~60% of CCO roles being filled with external candidates. This report is also helpful in calibrating team expectations if your company is looking for a new CCO (or soon will be).

  • Inspired by the NY Times Wordle game, Cisco’s employee comms team built a game that helps “keep Cisconians engaged and in the know about key messages from the company.” You can get a peek at the game here.
