Strictly Internal | Issue #8

60+ new roles at Airbnb, CNN, The Fed, Marriott and many more. Plus: new-ish email benchmarks

Welcome to Strictly Internal #8! Lots of interesting roles this week from the US and UK, including some cool transformation comms jobs (e.g., “Director, Command Center Communications” 🛰️ ) and one of those rare comms-oriented chief of staff roles (maybe they aren’t rare…anyway, I think they are super interesting).

Also, the world of finance had a good showing this week, with two roles at the Federal Reserve and new jobs at JPMorgan, Moodys, Morgan Stanley, and Northern Trust, to name a few.

For insights, a great video on Microsoft’s approach to employee engagement and new-ish email benchmark data.

Let’s do this…

New transformation & change comms roles

New insights

  • John Cirone, who leads Microsoft's Global Executive and Employee Communications community of over 1,000 communicators globally, recently talked about how the company approaches employee engagement (obviously using MS’s suite of tools). Worth a watch!

  • ICYMI (I did!), ContactMonkey and Politemail published their 2024 email benchmark reports. I haven’t dug into these, but I always find these reports helpful in leadership presentations and assessment dialogues (hard to argue with stats based on millions of emails across dozens of companies). Both free to download.
